We all hit cold spells.
I have felt frozen in place for a few weeks as I try to move Alli's story further. She has so many birds to meet, but it took time away from this project to determine the next move.
It wasn't until we had an actual Snow Day this winter that I realized what a relief it is to just hit PAUSE.
We had a mild spring and so many birds were fluttering around our yard - I wondered where they went when the snow hit. It turns out that Chickadees and other small birds have a way to hibernate, called 'torpor'. They huddle together in a nest or tree hollow for warmth. But they allow their body temperature to lower and go unconcious.
I haven't knocked myself out over this project - but I did take a bit of break. I now have a plan for getting Alli where she needs to be. AND if all goes well, I'll be 'winging it' with the Flying Solo Podcast soon!
